Terms of service
Last updated 25 October 2026
About these terms
These terms apply when you use Curator Pal, including the Chrome extension, the desktop app and this website. Curator Pal is provided by Peter Kruger, a sole trader trading as Curator Pal, of 2 Leytonstone Lane, Bourne, Lincolnshire, PE10 0QS, United Kingdom (support@curatorpal.co.uk). By using Curator Pal you agree to these terms.
The service
Curator Pal drafts stock-footage metadata — a title, description and keywords — from preview frames of your own clips, and can fill that metadata into your BlackBox account for you to review. You always save and submit to BlackBox yourself. Curator Pal is independent software and is not affiliated with or endorsed by BlackBox Global.
Curator Pal is new and still improving, so features may change. New accounts may receive a small number of free credits to try it. Free credits have no cash value and may be withdrawn if they are misused, for example by creating several accounts.
Your account
Keep your sign-in secure and don't share your account. You must be at least 18 and use Curator Pal for your own footage, or footage you're authorised to manage.
Credits and payment
- Each successful clip analysis uses one credit. If an analysis fails, the credit is returned automatically.
- Credits can be bought as one-off packs or a monthly plan. Prices are shown before you pay and are taken by Stripe. We are not VAT registered, so no VAT is added.
- A monthly plan renews automatically each month until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from Manage billing, and it stops at the end of the current period.
- Credits have no cash value and can't be transferred. Unused credits stay on your account while it remains open.
- Refunds are covered in our refund policy.
Your footage and the metadata
Your footage stays yours. Only small preview frames are sent for analysis, as described in our privacy policy. Metadata is generated automatically and can be wrong or incomplete. You are responsible for checking it is accurate before you submit, and for following BlackBox's own terms and guidelines. Curator Pal does not decide locations, dates, releases or editorial status; check those yourself.
Fair use
Don't misuse Curator Pal. That includes trying to get around credits, rate limits or security, reverse engineering the service, overloading it, or using it for footage you have no right to. We may suspend accounts that do.
Availability and changes
We work to keep Curator Pal running but can't promise it will always be available or free of errors. We may change or stop features. If we stop the service entirely, we'll give reasonable notice and refund unused purchased credits.
Our responsibility to you
If you are a consumer, you have legal rights in relation to digital content and services that are not as described or not of satisfactory quality; nothing in these terms affects them. We are not responsible for losses that weren't foreseeable, for business losses, or for decisions BlackBox or buyers make about your footage. Apart from this, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't be limited by law.
Ending your account
You can stop using Curator Pal at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may close accounts that break these terms.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.
